Did you know that Lead is a dangerous toxin especially to families with young children? Lead is a poison that is found almost anywhere.

It is in the air, water, dirt, dust.

It can be ingested or inhaled.

 

Lead can be found in:

Food, toys, crayons, mini blinds, home remedies (Greta& Azarcon)

Jewelry from gumball machines, Mexican Candies, glazed pottery,

Paint, car batteries.

 

Your house could even have lead:

If your house was built before 1978 then your house could have Lead based Paint.

Do you see paint chips along your window seal or in the dirt outside your house?

Does someone in your household work around lead, like in construction or car repair? If you have answered yes then your family may be exposed to lead.

 

Lead poisoning is very dangerous. It can cause

Learning difficulties

Kidney Problems

Hearing Loss

Pregnant women are at risk for miscarriage

Coma & even death

 

What are signs & symptoms of possible Lead poisoning?

Tired, cranky, headache, not able to sleep, stomach aches, not able to pay attention, weak

 

What can you do?

Have your children tested for lead each year

Make sure you know when your house was built

Look for signs & symptoms in your children
