POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Development Specialist will work alongside the Executive Director to coordinate strategic fundraising activities that empower women, girls and families through MSWC programs.

The position is a Part Time position (20 hrs/week) at $15/hr.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Research grant and funding opportunities (private foundations, corporations, and government agencies) to support current and future MSWC programs.
  2. Write and submit grant proposals, coordinate submission packets for RFP’s alongside agency staff, and track submission status.
  3. Manage specific research projects and explore collaborations for potential program expansion and growth.
  4. Aid in the coordination of a donor-cultivation strategy, including site visits, mailers, and phone calls.
  5. Coordinate MSWC’s on-line outreach strategy, including website and social media.
  6. Assist with MSWC’s media strategy, including the writing and distribution of press releases, newsletters and organizing of press events.
  7. Help to coordinate all fundraising events.
  8. Works with the Executive Director to submit written reports and evaluations to funders, including an annual report document.
  9. Perform general administrative tasks to support programs, the Executive Director and the Center

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, English, Creative Writing or

Communications preferred

  • Preferred experience writing grants for non-profit agencies with a track record in securing funds
  • Excellent grammar, vocabulary and speech
  • Proficient in MS Office applications & internet research

 

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), organized, and punctuality a must
  • Strong research skills
  • Able to maintain files in an organized manner
  • Able to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in an independent manner
  • Must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner that demonstrates respect for others at all times

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a part time contract position (6-8hrs/week).  The bookkeeper maintains financial and related records in accordance with standard practices for the industry. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Receives, approves, and, when necessary, investigates client's accounts payable invoices.
  2. Communicates (both in verbal and written form) with client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts.
  3. Keeps track of Customer Jobs/Financial Resource Funding
  4. Provides budgets and Customer job reports as necessary
  5. Tracks fundraising activities and manages fundraiser cash register and deposits
  6. Prepares appropriate schedules and reports as requested by client.
  7. Handles client payroll and payroll reporting (TWC  and IRS).
  8. Receives, reviews, and posts broker statements.
  9. Assists accountants on tax return preparation.
  10. Generates 1099's and W-2's for client.
  11. Works with Executive Director to calculate annual budget for all Program and Operational Transactions
  12. Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or Board Treasurer.
  13. Reports directly to Executive Director
  14. Attends monthly Board meetings and provides Financial reports to Treasurer
  15. Attends monthly Financial Committee meetings with Executive Director and Board Treasurer
  16. Some Financial Reporting Duties include:

 

  • Tracking Restricted/Unrestricted  Revenue/Expenses
  • Grant Tracking by Funding Source
  • Class Tracking by Program
  • Managing Grant and Contract Proposals
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Creating Budgets
  • Adjustments and Year-End Procedures
  • Reports and Graphs

 

SKILLS:

 

  • Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Word software
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills

 

SPECIAL LICENSES OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Must have the ability to adapt to an fast paced and diverse work environment
