Employment Requirements:  Girl Zone Educator


EDUCATION: College degree or some college preferred



  • Previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school youth required


  • Excellent communication skills, organized, and punctuality a must
  • Clients for the Girl Zone Educator are the girl participants and their families, many of whom experience financial and personal barriers in the pursuit of their own well being.  This position requires excellent communication skills to build trust with girls and provide support and guidance. 
  • Client families may be referred by other agencies to attend our parenting programs or may need additional casework services. The Educator must be able to express client family needs to the Executive Director to ensure proper handling of these issues.
  • Must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner that demonstrates respect for others at all times 
  • Demonstrate leadership in the facilitation of program activities 
  • Able to work collaboratively with other staff members in a team environment



  • No special licenses required
  • All applicants will be required to sign a release form for the Center to conduct a criminal record background search. This is a prerequisite to working with children.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.  Mileage will be reimbursed for outside travel for programming
  • Must be able to work the hours required by the program with occasional nights and weekends as needed
  • Must dress professionally and/or appropriate as outlined in the personnel policies




  • Able to lift 10 – 20 lbs. of files, reports, documents, or supplies
  • Able to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch as necessary to perform essential duties
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods of time as necessary to perform essential duties
  • Able to engage in sports activities, including but not limited to swimming, running, jumping, and extended walks.



 The Girl Zone Educator is responsible for program facilitation at participating SAISD schools as assigned.



  1. Facilitates after school programming or summer programming (including communication with parents supervision of girls)
  2. Cleans the clubhouse and Center common areas daily
  3. Implementation of girls principles of unity and discipline process
  4. Shares responsibility for the purchase of program groceries and supplies
  5. Conducts photo and  video documentation of daily activities, including proper storage of photos
  6. Prepares healthy snacks
  7. Communicates with workshop facilitators, partner organizations, and guest speakers
  8. Performs administrative work for Girl Zone at the Center before programming begins
  9. Provides guidance to participants/volunteers/parents
  10. Arrives at designated times to prepare for program activities
  11. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Director
